Proximity Check

The AP Proximity Check is similar to a Site Survey, except it only shows you how much the claimed access points overlap and how close they are to each other.

It’s not only helpful for new installs. If it’s a takeover job, you can get this information without a floor plan or previous documentation.

Note: If an access point is too far away from the others, you won’t see an overlapping signal.

This helps you determine the power-level settings for each radio on the access points so they do not interfere with each other. This improves device roaming, reduces throughput, and provides more stable connections for clients connecting to each access point.

Adjust the radio’s power levels on the Networks & Access Points tab by clicking Edit Access Points.

Manually adjust the transmit power for each radio on each access point.
